Common Nail Problems and How to Achieve Healthy Nails Isn’t funny how we are so…
What’s the Best Type of Nail Polish Remover?
There are two main branches of nail polish removers; Acetone and non-acetone. Acetone nail polish remover is usually clear, harsh smelling and highly flammable. Acetone is considered a solvent, capable of disintegrating plastic, which explains why it works so well with removing polish. Non-acetone nail polish remover was created mainly for the use when removing polish from nail extensions (acrylics). If acetone were to be used on the nail extensions, it would force the acrylic to separate from the natural nail.
Both acetone and non-acetone nail polishes can be found at any drug store or beauty store from around $1.00-$12.00. If you have sensitive skin or brittle nails, go with a non-acetone remover, this will be less drying and irritating to the skin. When removing a glitter polish, acrylics, or gel nails using acetone will give the quickest and best results.
There are many different polish removers in the market so finding the right one for your nails will not only help in the removal process, but will help with the strength and condition on the nails.
