The Difference: Loose Powder vs. Pressed Powder (the battle of the non-blushes)
Both loose and pressed powder help set foundation and concealer. Powder will give the foundation a “finished” appearance. Powder applied on the face will help minimize shine as it soaks up the oils.
Loose powder gives more coverage, but is best used at home since it can be messy. When deciding between the two powders, determine if full coverage or light coverage is desired. If full coverage is desired, loose powder works best. Loose powder also has more of a natural look due to how lightweight it is.
Pressed powder is easily transportable which allows for quick touch ups. Pressed powder does not provide full coverage. Coverage is light and is used for touch ups throughout the day.
Both loose and pressed powder may be used in a daily makeup regimen. Apply the loose powder first, and take the pressed powder on the go to fix any spots that tend to get shiny during the day.
