How to Exfoliate Your Skin
Exfoliating should be one of the most important parts in the weekly skin regimen. Exfoliation should be done one to three times a week depending on the skin characteristics and type.
To determine what exfoliator to use, ask yourself the basic question of “what’s my skin type?”. This means is the skin dry, sensitive, normal, oily or acneic. If your skin is dry or sensitive, it needs a gentler, nonaggressive exfoliator. This would include a product with a smaller grit or smaller exfoliation beads. Normal skin is usually the easiest to shop for. When choosing an exfoliator for normal skin, be sure it’s not too abrasive but still have a medium size grit. This way, dead skin is still coming off, but the top layer of the skin is not getting completely stripped of its natural oils. For oily and acneic skin; a large abrasive exfoliator works best. This skin type is prone to breakouts and clogged pores, which needs that deep clean.
Exfoliation is a very important step in skin care that should not be omitted. Figure out your skin type and choose and exfoliator that fits the skin’s needs.
