How to Do a French Manicure?

There are several different forms of the French manicure–ranging from the original pink nail with white tip, or a black nail with a white tip,or any color combination you choose. Along with the different color methods to choose from, there are a few different application techniques to use  as well. One easy way for a perfect manicure is to buy a French manicure kit with the nail tip guides. If you have a steady hand, you can also free hand the tip as well.

Start out with a base coat and coat the entire nail. Next, choose a color for the nail (usually a light pink, cream or off white color). Paint the entire nail with the polish desired following the three step polish procedure (mentioned in how to apply nail polish). After the two coats of polish has been applied, let dry completely. If using the French tip guides, the nail has to be 100 percent dry, otherwise the guides will stick to the polish and you will have to re-polish. Now choose a white color for the tip. At this time either apply the guides to the tip of the nail or begin to free hand the white tip. When using the guides, leave enough room at the edge to create the illusion on a free edge. Finish painting on the tips and remove the guides if they were used. Finish the manicure with a top coat at let dry.

Not only is this look classy and elegant, but simple to do. With a couple extra steps outside of a basic manicure, the look can be achieved.
