DIY & At Home Facials: The Normal Skin Edition
Even “normal” gals need pampering too. Ready for a few at home facials you can treat your skin to on a bored weeknight or lazy weekend? Read on, fair maiden!
Egg and Oatmeal
- 1 packet of plain instant oatmeal
- water
- 1 egg white
- 1 tsp. olive oil
Mix together oatmeal and water and microwave (like you would when actually making oatmeal). Pour half of the oatmeal into another bowl. Add the egg white and the olive oil and mix all the ingredients together. Apply the mask and leave on for 20 minutes. Remove with warm water. After thoroughly rinsing, dab the face with a cool wash cloth to close the pores.
This facial is great for those with normal skin. The oatmeal is calming and soothing. The egg white will tighten the skin while the olive oil moisturizes.
Chocolate Facial
- 1/3 cup of cocoa
- 3 tbsp. heavy cream
- ¼ cup honey
- 3 tbsp. powdered oatmeal
Mix all ingredients together. Apply to a clean face, avoiding any sensitive areas. Let the mask sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water. After thoroughly rinsing, dab the face with a cool wash cloth to close the pores.
Cocoa is very rich in antioxidants, and will help prevent redness. The honey is used to tighten and cleanse the skin while the oatmeal is very calming. The heavy cream is simply used to hold all the ingredients together.

Will have to try!! Thanks
Sounds like fun, but am a little nervous about the egg white and oil. I’ll try anything once.
