DIY & At Home Facials: The Dull Skin Edition
Have you ever felt like your skin just needs a quick refresher? Then this third post in our at home facial series is for you! Here are a few recipes straight from our aesthetician to brighten up your skin at home.
Papaya and Honey
- 1 peeled and seedless papaya
- ¼ cup honey
Peel and remove the seeds from the papaya and chop into small pieces and put into a small blender. Add honey and blend until constancy is like a paste. Apply the paste to the face avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 15 minutes and then rinse with warm water. After thoroughly rinsing, dab the face with a cool wash cloth to close the pores.
The natural enzymes in the papaya work great for an exfoliator and fight free radicals. This will leave this skin looking bright and refreshed.
Lemon Juice and Sea Salt
- ¼ cup of sea salt
- Lemon juice (more or less depending on how thick or thin you would like the consistency to be).
Mix sea salt and lemon juice in a small bowl until the consistency is to your liking. Apply to face avoiding any sensitive areas. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water. After thoroughly rinsing, dab the face with a cool wash cloth to close the pores.
The sea salt will slough off any dead skin cells and the lemon juice will brighten and tone the skin.

The tip I got most out of this was dampening your face with a cool wash cloth. I always heard either hot or cold opens or closes the pores but never remember which did which. Thanks!
