What Causes Fine Lines and Wrinkles and How to Get Rid of Them!
Wrinkles are the product not only of age but sun damage, facial expressions, smoking, dehydration, and some medications. Wrinkles appear on the skin as creases, folds, or ridges. With aging, skin becomes thin, dry, and begins to lose elasticity. Early care of the skin can help prevent wrinkles.
If wrinkles are already present in the skin, there are many different options to rid the wrinkles. These methods could range from home care to cosmetic procedures, depending on the desired results.
Avoiding the sun and wearing sunscreen is the most important thing to do. The sun is the biggest factor to contribute to wrinkles and even cancer. Smoking will also cause wrinkles and premature aging. Nicotine causes narrowing of blood vessels and impairs blood flow. With less blood flow the skin does not get as much oxygen and important nutrients. Tobacco damages collagen and elastin resulting in sagging and premature aging the skin. Keeping the skin safe when exposed to the sun and not smoking are the two best precautions to promoting healthy skin.
At home products that reduce wrinkles can be found at a drug store or any cosmetic counter. This would include any products that advertise to help collagen production, elastin production, fill in fine lines, correct aging skin, and wrinkles. Prescribed medication from a doctor can also be used on wrinkles such as Retin-A. Retin-A is the acid for of Vitamin A that increases collagen production.
A step above home care products would be visiting a skin care therapist or make an appointment with you dermatologist or physician. An aesthetician or skin care therapist will be able to provide facial treatments to reduce wrinkles and provide help with choosing the right products to use on the skin. They can also perform chemical peels, which exfoliate deep into the skin to correct fine lines and wrinkles.
For quick results, some choose cosmetic surgery. Botox and dermal fillers also fit into cosmetic surgery since it can only be performed at a medical facility. Face lifts, forehead lifts, neck lifts, eye lifts, laser resurfacing, and dermabrasion are all ways to correct wrinkles through cosmetic procedures.
Wrinkles don’t just happen over night. It is vital to take care of the skin to prevent premature ageing. Since it is the largest organ of the body, it needs the most care.
