How to Apply Nail Polish
Nail polish application for most women is something that comes naturally; for others, having a steady hand can be tricky. Finding the perfect nail polish can play a big role when painting the nails. Is the nail polish too thin? Too thick? Does the brush shed while painting? Do the bristles of the brush leave streaks? How quick does it dry? All these factors are something to consider when choosing a nail polish. A perfect application can be done in three easy steps.
To do a complete at home manicure a base coat, polish and top coat should be used. Using a base coat to start out, apply over the entire nail. Since this is a clear coat, don’t worry about how precise it is, just be sure it’s over the whole nail. Next, choose your favorite polish. Nail polish application can be done in three strokes. Start at the base of the nail and stroke upward. Now move to the other sides of the nail using the same motion. Do this on every nail. Once all nails are painted on each hand, repeat that step for a second coat of polish. Finish with a top coat to seal the color and add shine.
Once the nails are completely dry, the manicure is finished. Even if you don’t have a steady hand, you’ll find that the more you practice–the better you’ll get. Additionally, Q-Tips are a great product to fix any overlap you might have!
